Keep Up With Bernie at SEMA

Sorry for the lack of updates for the past couple of days. SEMA 2011 starts TOMORROW and I will be in the building. I've been receiving many emails, companies inviting me to meet with them as well as invites to special events. While I'm there, I will not be adding any new posts, however if you follow me on twitter: @BeTrueNY , I'll have a lot of sneak peeks throughout the four day event, which will include photos and videos. My press credentials are waiting for me to pick them up and I can't wait!

Vegas here I come!!!! See you'se next week.

Renault reveals the third car of its Indian line-up : Pulse takes the beat to India

Renault reveals the third car of its Indian line-up : Pulse takes the beat to India

Renault is revealing Pulse, an upscale compact car developed for the Indian market by Renault’s Design Center in Mumbai. It is scheduled for release in January 2012.

  • The third of five vehicles to be launched in India in just over a year, Pulse is designed to appeal to the broadest customer segment. It follows on Fluence and Koleos launched earlier this year. This rapid rollout highlights Renault’s commitment to the Indian market, which is one of the three priorities of the group’s international strategy.

  • Targeting young, upwardly mobile urban customers, Pulse epitomizes Renault’s philosophy of making cars and innovative technology available to all.  Pulse comes equipped with the 1.5 dCi engine that ranks best-in-class in terms of fuel consumption and performance. Its fuel efficiency in particular has benefited from advances made by Renault’s Formula 1 engineers.

  • Both car and engines are built in Chennai in the first dedicated Renault-Nissan vehicle manufacturing plant, inaugurated in 2010 to support the Alliance’s ambitions on the Indian market.

On October 29, the eve of the Indian Grand Prix, Carlos Tavares, COO of Renault, will reveal Pulse and a car offering a foretaste of its sports derivative in New Delhi, India. Pulse is the third in line after Fluence and Koleos and it will constitute the core of Renault’s product range in India, where four out of five cars sold are compacts. It will be followed in 2012 by Duster and a sedan.
A car for a rapidly growing market
Pulse is designed for young, upwardly mobile professionals in a country that has one of the fastest-growing and youngest working age populations. Its sporty design, dynamic driving experience and advanced features such as the smart access key to open and start the car by just pushing a button or the automatically folding outside mirror, position it at the top of the A-B segment. It is the ideal introduction to the Renault world for entry-segment upgraders looking for a bold, fuel-efficient compact car that is fun to drive both on the open road and in the city. In addition, customers can benefit from a complete service offer that includes a 4-year peace of mind package and the Renault Complete Care offer.
Putting Formula 1 expertise on the road
Pulse will feature the 1.5 dCi diesel engine that has proven highly popular not just in India, but around the world. It ranks among the best in class for daily city driving thanks to record low fuel consumption—essential on the Indian market—that does not come at the expense of driving pleasure. Its fuel efficiency, responsiveness and reliability reflect the qualities of the RS27 engine developed by Renault Sport F1, which has just powered Red Bull Racing and Sebastian Vettel to the double crown of the constructors’ and drivers’ title in the FIA Formula One World Championship. Renault’s objective has always been to carry over the technologies developed and fine-tuned by its F1 engine specialists to the world of production cars. In this case, the research into improving powertrain and fuel efficiency by reducing friction in Formula 1 cars has been applied to the 1.5 dCi engine.

Designed and built in India

Pulse was designed by Renault’s Design Center in Mumbai and will be produced in the Alliance’s plant in Chennai, which will also manufacture the engine. The plant complies fully with Alliance quality standards and its production management system is based on mutual knowledge-sharing and the best practices of both Renault and Nissan. Products by both companies can be seamlessly combined on the same line. By using the same platform as Nissan’s Micra, Renault was able to reduce development costs and lead times. Pulse is thus a prime example of the synergies generated by the Alliance.
The first orders for Pulse will be taken at the New Delhi Motor Show in January 2012.

Told Ya So: Justin Bieber's Batmobile Cadillac

Photos by Biebs' friend, Jewelry Extraudinaire (like how I added that) Ben Baller, the guy in the middle

Back in August, I gave folks the heads up about the project involving West Coast Customs and Justin Bieber. Apparently what I stated happened to be true, since two short days ago, the Biebs got pulled over in Sunny California for cutting off an officer. Of course, they didn't give him a ticket...

I'm still convinced that this was a Hennessey edition Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, with adjustments to make it look like the batmobile. I'm not a fan of the whole batmobile aspect, however, I do love the customizations. I would have gave him more credit if he put JB on the grille. You already know it's his- this isn't the first "batmobile", but it would have been the first Biebed-out vehicle. I love the doors opening out- a la the Rolls Royce Drophead Phantom. We all know that I adore a blacked out vehicle that hasn't been blacked out before- like this.

P.S. I just took a look at Ben Baller's blog and I like it. It gives a "life of a jet setter" feel, and his stories (especially of Kim Kardashian not knowing how to roll down the windows in the Ferrari) are great. It's more exclusive than the "exclusive blogs" and it's underrated. Please note that Ben doesn't know me. And you know I added it to the blog roll on the index page. Think I'm playin, Son???

SEMA Preview: Concept One Wheels

Concept One Wheels released a sneak peak of what's to come next week at SEMA. Teaming up with Continental Tire, they've came up with the Rolling Art Wheels Staggered CS-5.0 for the Camaro SS.

That's all I know about it so far, seeing how that's all they've released.

SEMA Preview: XIX Wheels

XIX Wheels FINALLY shows off some wheels by giving a preview of what's to come at SEMA. The last time I heard from them was this time last year, but it looks like they've been working hard and I can't be mad at that. (I know, poor grammar)

The first wheel design: X21 Wheels in 20 inches staggered.

Looking good so far.

The second set: X15 Wheels in 20 and 22 inches staggered

Honestly, the X15 wheels look better on the Camaro than the S550. Maybe it was the way that the Mercedes was shot, I'm not sure but it doesn't pack a punch like it does with the Camaro.

Finally, the X23 wheels in 20 and 22 inches staggered...

All in all, looks great and can't wait to see them as well as what else XIX Wheels has to offer. See you at SEMA...

Lexani Shows off a Jaguar XJL

The busy folks at Lexani took time out from preparing for SEMA (just like what I'm doing) to show off a Jaguar XJL sitting on their 22 inch CVX-55 wheels. Whomever uploaded the video titled it "The World's Nicest Jaguar XJL", but I digress.

Just a few short weeks ago, Asanti (same company) released my favorite Jaguar XJ that brought a tear to my eye. Again, my personal opinion.

The Supercharged Jaguar XFR Spotted

Someday I will break my inner patience and put myself on this “Supercharged R” and taste my racing spirit. I have just become a fan by its sexy and aggressive looks. Yes, I am desperate to ride this beast, unfortunately, not possible. Now, focusing on what we spotted, we present you the Supercharged Jaguar XFR, new addition to exotic cars in Bangalore and Exotics in India has captured it.

The Supercharged XFR is the true spirit of sporting luxury from Jaguar. Born to rival the BMW's M5, Mercedes Benz's E63 AMG and others in the luxury sport segment. This hard line yet elegant beast possesses a 5.0 Litre AJ-V8 Supercharged engine which pumps out 510 immensely powerful horses. This luxury sports sedan makes a sprint from 0-60 in merely 4.7 seconds and hits a top speed of 250km/h. (In a secret trial at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah the car made the record speed of 363km/h, making the Supercharged XFR the fastest Jaguar ever).

On the exterior part, the Supercharged R features belligerent front facade with large chrome air inlets on both sides and killer hood louvers with ‘SUPERCHARGED’ design. The styling is not stopped keeping the supercharged design on the 20" Nevis alloy wheels too, and also the ‘R’ badging in the boot lid as a finisher.

The interior also carries the supercharged motif throughout the instrument panel, doors and the steering, in addition the soft grain leather seats, with R embossing on front seats and Jaguar Suedecloth Premium headlining makes it a perfect luxury car. As standard feature it carries 7 inch colour Touch-screen, Jaguar Smart Key System with Keyless Start, LED Daytime Running Lights, Cruise control with Automatic Speed Limiter, Heated powerfold door mirrors and auto-dimming rear-view mirror and much more with endless options.

Jaguar says, The Supercharged XFR is the most dynamic and exhilarating expression of Jaguar sporting luxury.
