Rockford Repositions Lighting Audio Product Line and Distribution Channels To Help Independent Retailers
Rockford Corporation has repositioned its Lightning Audio product line and distribution channels to support independent 12 volt specialist retailers. Lightning Audio has shifted its focus from mass retail chains to the independent retailers, eliminated MSRP’s and prohibited internet sales of any kind, to help dealers improve their profitability and differentiate their product lines.
To give dealers an opportunity to achieve solid margins, each Lightning Audio product was designed with an “enhanced” feature and performance set. Features like dual spiders and vortex cones on woofers, die-cast frames on the co-axial speakers and one-band parametric EQs on the class D mono-block amplifiers will allow for both enhanced performance and higher customer perceived product value. The Lightning Audio product line includes subwoofers, speakers and amplifiers, starting at $49.95.
“Smaller volumes and increased pressure on margins have made it difficult for 12-volt dealers to succeed today,” explained Al Congdon, director of Lightning Audio. “This program is intended to help our dealers with Lightning Audio products that deliver Lightning’s unique combination of power and features at a reasonable price.”
