Peugeot 208
Peugeot has released the first pictures of the model 208 in early November last year, but its official launch will take place only during the upcoming trade fair in Geneva. For mired in a huge crisis, the manufacturer is almost as important model where almost 30 years ago was the famous 205 - The French, moreover, quite simply refer to this very successful and very popular model.
Inseparable, even a key element of the legend of Peugeot 205 is the sporty version of the GTi (occurring in two equally valued versions 1.6 and 1.9). To establish this model by the 208 entrants were more suggestive, the new model will appear in the Geneva version of the GTi, though formally it is only a conceptual model. As often happens in such cases in the Peugeot, the production version will remain practically unchanged.
Under the bonnet of the Peugeot 208 GTi is to find a 200-horsepower 1.6 liter THP engine, which will not only be more powerful than the variety of top-207 - RC 175-horsepower, but will have to deal with a much lighter car. The engine works with a 6-speed manual transmission and the car rolls on 18-inch wheels hiding massive brakes. A symbolic reference to the 205 GTi is the logo on the rear roof pillar.
