Rockford Fosgate Announces Availability of the New Prime Class D Amplifiers

Rockford Fosgate, the industry leader in high-performance car audio systems, is now shipping its new line of Prime amplifiers. The four amplifiers include two Full Range Class D models (R400-4D, R600-4D) and two Class D subwoofer amplifiers (R750-1D and R1200-1D), starting from $289.99.

“Our new line of Class D amplifiers offer a variety of options for buyers,” noted Bill Jackson, president of Rockford Corporation. “We’ve packed these four new Class D amplifiers with incredible technology not typically seen at this price point. We’re confident that when people get a taste of how small and efficient these new Prime series amps are, they’ll never want to listen to their factory system again.”

Rockford’s Prime FRD amplifiers utilize a high efficiency Class D amplifier design for reduced current consumption from the charging system and improved power density. These new amplifiers feature onboard variable Punch EQ with optional wired level control and integrated top-mount controls. The Prime Full Range Class D amplifiers offer flexible applications for every audio system with models ranging from 400-1200 watts of power output and 2 ohm stereo or 1 ohm mono low impedance stability.

“The technology we’ve engineered into the new full range and mono Class-D amplifiers allow them to be much smaller and generate less heat,” explained Jake Braaten, director of product development at Rockford Fosgate. “Each offers elements of performance that are designed to exceed everyone’s expectation.”
